Radio

The radio has three build ups to it BBC such as radio 1, commercial such as Capital FM and community such as CVFM. Radio is available on so many platforms for example digital audio broadcasting, digital multimedia broadcasting through mobile phones and web radio and pod-casting The radio makes different sources of income through advertising and commercials, companies pay radio stations for advertising space between blocks of songs and other content, radio stations with more listeners than smaller radio stations tend to charge more for advertisement space, also another source of income is subscription fee, satellite radio make their money from charging for a subscription fee, some more income can come from grants, donations and pledges also licence fee's.
The radio industry seems to be progressing over the years as it now employs 22,000 people. However the contracts for radio are not very long and can even be under a year.

TV

TV is one of the most popular forms of entertainment and also information, but as we have internet and other sources these days the TV industry needs to make sure everything is perfect for them to not get out of business, there are nine terrestrial broadcasters which broadcast through land-based transmitters they are BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Five, S4C, SMG and UTV. The companies that make programmes such as X-factor, and Big brother employ thousands of people a year. The number of employees for TV on an estimate is around 55,800. BBC is a major role in TV as the BBC make their money from licence fee's so it dosent cost them to as much as private companies to make television programmes. A lot of income for TV comes from commercials known as 'breaks' that last 2-5 minutes. TV online even has commercials as if you want to watch a catch up programme chances are you have to watch an advertisment before hand. They also make income of merchandising, most tv programmes own rights to characters and catchphrases, so they will get money for people purchasing items to do with the television programmes, also video games that are from a TV programme, they will get an income from this to.

Publishing

Publishing has many categories such as books, directories and mailing lists, journals, magazines and business media, newspaper, news agencies and other information services. Publishing is one of the biggest earners of the Uk creative media Industries. The biggest place to get jobs in the industry of publishing is London. There is alot of employment as there is a wide range of jobs in publishing but each job has different pay. Employment for publishing is around 200,000. Publishing make their income from advertisements in the newspapers the publishers write so they get an income of that also selling newspaper's, they link to make an income with working with the TV as news reporters such as journalists earn money from sharing new's with TV, also licence fee's and magazines the advertisments in their publishing will make an income of that, also authors that write book's they make money of selling books widely across the UK, and business's make money from working so the income for publishing will actually come from their job and what they do.

Animation

Animation is used on television, commercials, websites, in feature films also computer or video games. The employment is around 4,700 people around the UK, animation includes different job roles such as 2D drawn, 3D computer, 2D computer, depending on what you want to do in animation you can concentrate on one sector or all four. Animation is very costly and time consuming an animation for 30 minutes can take up to two year sometimes. Animation links in with the advertising industry and film. Animation has different sources of income from people buying their animation to use theirself's, and also when making a film when the film is sold money is made from that so basically sales figues animators make money from producing animation and selling it.

Film

In the film industry there is six different parts to film which are development, production, facilities, distribution, exhibition and export. Around 66,000 people work in film and cinema in the UK. The film industry employ around 27,000 on an estimate. Film's make an income by the cinema, the cinema pay to get their films released in the cinema and the tickets sold to see the film will be making an income for the film made, when selling films in shops such as HMV, the film industry that made the film will make money from the film being sold in that shop, downloads would make an income online when paying for the film such as if you use 'lovefilm', xbox or ps3 ect games to go with the film will be making an income of that and also merchendise say a film such as 'high school musical' make an income of selling high school musical dolls, fancy dress costumes and clothes to do with the film.

Games

The games industry is massive as now there are record breaking selling games out now new games with amazing graphics such as GTA 5 and Fifa 13, basically the game industry is to provide people with fun exciting games to play with outstanding graphics that take the audience by surprise, the games industry has about 485 business's with most of them being classed as game developers, around 35 companies can be classed as games support. The business's employ a total of 10,000 people in the UK. Games income comes from actually when they make the game selling it in shops they make an income of the games that are sold in the shops also commercials make an income for games on commercials at the cinema also you can play games online you have to download them they will make an income of that and of using PC games that are bought they have to pay to buy the game to play also extra's for the game, the actual console earns money for games income and merchendise that repersent the game the games industry can get income from that.

Photo Imaging/Photography

The photography industry is large as there are so many types of photography that can be done such as baby photos, portraits, weddings, fashion, food, architecture, records of crime scenes, medical procedures and scientific processes. The industry employees around 44,000 people as it is a wide ranged sector. Photography income comes from selling images that photographers take, and commercial's make an income for photography as they advertise photography in magazines, newspapers and even on the TV, different types of photographers get differnt income's but photography is used everywhere, in newspaper's images such as crime scences can be seen newspapers will take images for people and they will pay them also wedding photographers get money at different wages depending on the quality of the images.

Interactive media

The interactive media industry includes animation, advertisment, computer games, corporate and commercial production; fashion and textiles and everything to do with online media. Interactive media products include websites, multi media catgologues, digital advertiser locations, other red-button interactive television destinations and computer games. The industry is divided into we and internet, offline multimedia, companies specialising in mobile content and interactive TV. The industry employs around 40,000 people on a estimate. The income for interactive media comes from websites that are made pay to make their own website say such as facebook earns a lot of money from having this huge online website, catgologues make money buy advertisments. Interactive television gets income from licence fee's and computer games earn income from selling them in shops.


Marketing and advertising

The marketing and advertising industry is made up of many sectors advertisers work in many places and make many advertisments for different companies they need to catch the audience's attention with the advertisment to actually want them to buy something from this business so they advertise online on websites in newspapers in shops on television and many other places, whereas marketing is the actual sale of the product that is being advertised. The employment for marketing and advertisment is around 17,000 people. The income from advertising comes from people paying you to actually make an advertisment for them also licence fee's pays for this because of the many advertisments on television now a days. Marketing income comes from the selling of the product that you are trying to market if you are good at marketing then the more money the company will make.
